Employees Reach Milestone Anniversaries

Kathleen S. Crago, office manager in the Newcomb Music Department, says she isn't musically inclined but she has devoted 30 years to keeping the music department running smoothly. Add to that her 10 years working in alumni affairs at Tulane, and Crago is celebrating her 40th anniversary working for the university.

Crago is one of three Tulane employees celebrating 40 years at Tulane, a milestone they reached in 2009.

One hundred and sixty-five employees are invited to the Lavin-Bernick Center today (April 6) to recognize employment anniversaries that range from five to 40 years. The event is the first of three similar events this month. The health sciences campus and the Tulane National Primate Research Center will have celebrations on April 8.

A total of 287 employees will be honored for milestone employment anniversaries reached in 2009.

“Tulane is very fortunate to have a committed and talented staff. We enjoy continued success because we have wonderful individuals who work hard every single day to contribute as much as they can to this university and the realization of its goals and aspirations,” says Anne Baños, vice president for administrative services.

“The employee recognition events are just one way for our community to say thank you to our great staff,” Baños adds.

At the recognition parties, the university's Workforce Management Organization will honor each employee by presenting a gift certificate that may be redeemed at a variety of vendors and a Tulane pin commemorating the anniversary.

Other employees who are being recognized for 40 years at the university are Margaret Malloy in the undergraduate admission office and Kenneth Sharpe, who works at the power plant.

The Workforce Management Organization website has lists of the staff employees who marked their milestone anniversaries this past year.
