For the Fans

Like a fly ball in left field, baseball season is quickly approaching, and Green Wave fans can catch a taste of what's to come this season on Tulane Baseball Fan Day. Fans are invited to attend an open practice on Saturday (Jan. 30) at Greer Field in Turchin Stadium.

The gates will open at 1 p.m., and the event will run from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.

The event provides an opportunity for season ticket holders to pick up their tickets amidst a number of festivities for the whole family. Concession stands and a fun area for kids will be available while the Green Wave warms up, and at the end of practice, fans may descend to the field for autographs and pictures with favorite players and staff members.

The practice session is scheduled for 2 until 4:30 p.m., offering fans their first glimpse of new players in action. During the session, Tulane baseball head coach Rick Jones will address fans on what they can expect from their beloved team this season.

"This is a young team with so many new faces," says Jones. "They will make youthful mistakes, and it will be extremely challenging in and out of the conference. However, they are a talented group that will learn on the job."

Jones describes Green Wave fans as "rabid and passionate," alluding to their unwavering impact on his players. "The fans are completely in tune with this program, and nothing ever flies under the radar."

The head coach looks forward to having the players get their first feel for the spirited environment by interacting with fans, who are swept up in waves of anticipation and excitement.
