Supersized King Cake, Anyone?

At 400 feet, it's a supersized king cake, and teams will compete to decorate it on the Lavin-Bernick Center Quad today (Feb. 10) on the uptown campus.

Fifteen teams had signed up earlier this week to take part in the design competition, which begins at 1 p.m. Each team gets to decorate a two-foot portion of the favorite Mardi Grad dessert. When the competition ends at 2 p.m., a winner will be chosen, and participants get to take their cake home.

The 400-foot-diameter cake will be engineered and constructed by Tulane Dining Services, which is operated by Sodexo.
