Faculty, staff Town Hall goes virtual

Faculty and staff of Tulane University are invited to participate in a special Town Hall hosted by Tulane President Mike Fitts on Wednesday, Nov. 1 from 9 to 10 a.m.

The Town Hall will be conducted using a new online format with a goal of maximizing the number of employees able to join the discussion.

“As a convenience for our far-flung workforce, this Town Hall will take place online, allowing staff and faculty to submit questions and receive answers in real time without ever leaving their offices or classrooms,” Fitts said in a recent campus-wide email.

In previous years, employees had to go to the uptown campus for the Homecoming Town Hall, but this year Fitts hopes to increase participation from all campuses including the downtown, Elmwood, National Primate Research Center, Mississippi and Texas campuses.

Questions about anything relating to the university may be submitted ahead of the Town Hall to mike@tulane.edu.

The Town Hall will be accessible by logging into Gibson Online on the day of the event. A reminder email containing detailed instructions on entering the chat-style discussion will be sent to faculty and staff on Monday, Oct. 30.
