MEDIA ADVISORY: Tulane to dedicate Louis Prima Room

What: Dedication of the Louis Prima Room, a collaboration between Tulane University and the Gia Maione Prima Foundation in memory of one of the 20th century’s most iconic American musicians. The room is the newest addition to the Hogan Jazz Archive and will feature Prima’s personal papers and materials, including film, tapes, phonodiscs, diaries, sheet music, photographs and more.

When: Friday, Oct. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Where: Room 306, Joseph Merrick Jones Hall, 6801 Freret St., on Tulane's uptown campus.

More: The event will include food stations, music by the Tom Hooks Band and, on the second floor, an exhibit on “Women in Jazz.” Click here to see a video of Prima in action.
