Tulane University Hosts Homecoming and Family Weekend 2010

Families of current Tulane University students and Green Wave alumni from all years past will return to New Orleans Oct. 8-10, as Tulane kicks off Homecoming, Family Weekend and “Wave "10,” an All-Alumni Reunion party. Numerous special events will take place leading up to the Homecoming football game, which pits the Green Wave against Army on Oct. 9 at 2:30 p.m. in the Louisiana Superdome. From 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. there will be music, food and fun at the tailgating party in Homecoming Village atop Garage 5.

Homecoming Weekend"s many other highlights include a huge pep rally and fireworks display on Friday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. on the Lavin-Bernick Center Quad with a free concert by Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, and the Music for Matt benefit concert at Tipitina"s Uptown at 10 p.m. These events are open to the public.

The Helluva Hullabaloo Auction & Party, benefiting Tulane student-athletes, will be held on Friday, Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lavin-Bernick Center. The online auction at http://riptide.me/Fr opens today (Oct. 5) at 8 a.m. CDT and continues through Oct. 26, offering items such as a Sugar Bowl VIP experience for four; a trip with accommodations for four to Atlanta to see the Saints vs. Falcons; a Formula One Mercedes racing team tour; a private suite for 12 in Turchin Stadium for a Tulane baseball game; trips to Las Vegas, Mexico and Sonoma, Calif.; a Jonas Brothers meet-and-greet; Miami Heat and Los Angeles Dodgers tickets and more. In addition, raffle tickets are being sold for a chance to win two tickets to the Super Bowl.
