Hurricane preparedness: the mistakes that can make recovery harder

Meghan McPherson

Professor of Practice, Emergency & Security Studies

Meghan McPherson is an expert in emergency management, healthcare preparedness, disaster response and recovery, community resilience, crisis training and continuity planning.

With two disturbances in the Atlantic and a hurricane in the Pacific, hurricane preparedness is back in focus, and not just what families should have on hand before a storm, but also the mistakes that can put their safety at risk and make recovery more difficult.

Tulane University’s Meghan McPherson, an expert in disaster preparedness and recovery, crisis leadership and community resilience, can discuss how families should prepare before a storm and common recovery missteps.

Meghan is available for interviews. I’d be happy to coordinate.
