Banush to lead University Libraries at University of South Carolina

David Banush, dean of libraries and academic information resources at Tulane, has been named the Dean of Libraries at the University of South Carolina, effective Nov. 1. During his tenure at Tulane since 2015, Banush has increased support for digital scholarship, research data management and faculty research impact. He has helped to increase grant funding, refurbish library spaces to align them better with evolving student needs and interests, and increase private support, leading to the acquisition and digitization of extraordinary research and major collections like the Anne Rice Archives. Prior to Tulane, Banush served as associate university lbrarian for Access Services and Collection Management at Brown University and held several positions at Cornell University Library. The university will soon launch a national search for Banush’s successor. Read more about Banush’s appointment.
