Crane demobilization
Beginning Tuesday, May 24, through Friday, May 27, the tower crane will be removed from the construction site of the Village, the new housing complex on the uptown campus. This will necessitate that Drill Road, McAlister Drive, and Janet Yulman Way be shut down and inaccessible to parking and traffic during these four days.
Expected Timeline:
Crane demobilization will begin on Tuesday, May 24 and is expected to last through Friday, May 27.
Anticipated Impact:
During this time, Drill Road, McAlister Drive, and Janet Yulman Way will be closed to parking and vehicular traffic, including golf cart access. Pedestrians will have access to the sidewalks on Drill Road, McAlister Drive (from Drill Road to Willow Street), and Janet Yulman Way. Please note that traffic may be stopped periodically on Willow Street to coordinate truck access in and out of the site.
Work Hours:
Dismantling the crane will take place Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
No activity producing a significant level of noise may commence prior to 8 a.m. Contractors are authorized to mobilize at the site 30 minutes before the construction start time, but they are not authorized to make excessive noise. If you experience excessive noise or disruption outside of the work hours designated above, please contact us.
Contractor Access to Campus & Off-Campus Buildings:
Contractors are required by their contract with the university to observe all city ordinances with respect to site access.
