This image and the following photographs, all shot on Oct. 17, 2005, record the damage, as well as the progress of the restoration of the Tulane University uptown campus after Hurricane Katrina. The university reopened 87 days later with the President"s Convocation ceremony and a standing-room-only crowd in McAlister Auditorium on Jan. 12, 2006.
