Discount Jazz Fest tickets available to Tulane community

A partnership between the Tulane University Bookstore, the Office of Student Affairs, Shuttles and Transportation and Coca-Cola makes getting tickets — and a ride — to the 2014 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival easy for students and employees of the university.

Tickets are available for the festival's first weekend (April 25–27) at just $52 per day. They can be purchased at the uptown and medical school campus bookstores with the purchase of three 20-ounce Coca-Cola carbonated beverages or one 20-ounce Dasani and any Dasani Drops. In addition to the $18 discount on festival tickets (the cost is $70 per day at the gate), there will be free shuttle service from the uptown campus to the festival and back.

“This is great for students who might otherwise rely on public transportation, which can get crowded during this time,” says Kelly Venable Carroll in university services. “Since this offer is available to employees and students only, a Tulane Splash card will be required to board the shuttle.”

In 2012 there were only 100 tickets available. In 2013 there were 500 tickets available and in 2014 there are 700 tickets are being offered to the Tulane community. Faculty and staff members also are eligible for the deal.

Carroll says the offer is back by popular demand.

The 2014 Jazz Fest shuttle schedule is posted on the Transportation website.
