Find an internship for summer or fall semester

Adam Yohanan, a sophomore from New York majoring in philosophy and economics at Tulane University, is an intern with the Office of the Independent Police Monitor in New Orleans.

As an undergraduate intern for the independent oversight agency, Yohanan works with the leadership and a team of interns from local law schools to take complaints from citizens. He also is working on public relations materials for a new mediation program between citizens and the New Orleans Police Department, as well as conducting research and writing proposals for awards.

“This is your chance to meet community partners face-to-face and finalize your placement,” says Myriam Huet, internship program manager with the Center for Public Service.

More than 100 organizations will be recruiting interns for both summer and fall 2014 semesters. Community partner organizations attending the fair will represent a wide range of professional domains, and there will be exciting and quality internship opportunities for students in every academic field.

Internships through the Public Service Internship Program fulfill the second tier of the Tulane public service graduate requirement and provide academic credit.

“A public service internship is a great way for Tulane students to gain professional experience while being engaged in the local community,” Huet says.

Students are asked to register online, bring a resume and dress for success.
