Mark Walczak

Mark Walczak displays a healthy bicep as he stanches a needle prick from having his blood taken by Rashunda Hall. Walczak, who played the positions of tight end and long snapper in the NFL from 1986 to 1995, was taking advantage of medical screenings offered to retired NFL players at the Morial Convention Center in downtown New Orleans. Hall, who is a lab assistant, was among a number of Tulane medical professionals taking part in the event.

Trev Faulk

Medical technician Terry Gilmore takes an echocardiogram of Trev Faulk, who played in the NFL as a linebacker from 2002 to 2006. Faulk joined other former NFL players in receiving tests and counseling at the "Healthy Mind and Body Screening," which was held over the course of two days. The event was hosted by the Player Care Foundation and included free and confidential cardiovascular, blood, sleep, nutrition and prostate screenings for all retired players, as well as counseling and resource services.
