Fresh look for fall

Summer was brutally hot, but that didn"t stop facilities services from sweltering under the hot Louisiana sun to ready the Tulane University uptown campus for the return of the fall semester. They kicked into high gear with a list of jobs that must be done before the students returned. Now with the cooler weather has come a new look for many places at Tulane.

Refurbishing the approximately 1,300 rooms in the residence halls across campus, trimming oak trees along McAlister Place and Newcomb Boulevard, painting classrooms and filling potholes are some of the items on an endless list of tasks. Below is a glimpse of a few projects the facilities services staff accomplished during the heat of last season.

Richardson Hall

Classroom 117 in Richardson Hall received a total renovation from floor to ceiling, literally.

Newcomb Garden

The Newcomb Pottery Garden was enhanced with a fresh bed at the corner of Newcomb Circle and Newcomb Boulevard.

Engineering

On the east side of campus, Engineering Road received a new blacktop surface.
