Golf Tournament a Sell-Out

The second annual Tulane Classic golf tournament on Monday (April 12) at English Turn Golf and Country Club is sold out.

The Tulane Classic is Tulane Athletics' premier spring event and will feature current and former Green Wave student-athletes and coaches from all eras and teams. All proceeds from the event directly benefit Tulane's student-athletes and their endeavors in competition, in the classroom and in the community.

"Last year's inaugural event was a great success with a sold-out field, featuring former TU greats Matt Forte and Mewelde Moore, and many of our current coaches and student-athletes," says Rick Dickson, athletics director. "We are very appreciative of the support from English Turn Golf and Country Club for their commitment to this wonderful event that has a direct impact on our student-athletes."

The Tulane Classic caps a weekend of Green Wave activities, Dickson says. On April 9–11, Tulane baseball hosts a three-game series against Conference USA rival Rice at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. The Tulane men's tennis team also is in action at Goldring Tennis Center against the University of Louisiana–Lafayette on April 10 and Marquette University on April 11.

Following the tournament, a reception, awards presentation and silent auction will take place. For more information on the tournament, visit the tournament website or contact Sue Bower at 504-865-5513.
