Good Health Starts Here

A group of Tulane medical residents will hold a free health fair on Sunday (March 21) from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Walmart Supercenter, 1901 Tchoupitoulas St. in New Orleans.

"Making People Healthy" is the theme of the event that is being organized by residents of the Tulane Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Program.

The residents will administer screenings for cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure and asthma as well as hold healthy eating discussions and demonstrations. They will provide car seat safety checks, give out information on cancer awareness and prevention as well as smoking cessation, give diabetic foot exams, and assist people with Medicaid and LA CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program) applications.

In addition, residents will link participants to a primary care provider if they do not already have one.

For additional information, e-mail resident Gifty-Maria Ntim or call 504-330-4058.
