He likes American music
Nick Spitzer, host of "American Routes," introduces the Lost Bayou Ramblers during a concert held on Friday (April 19) to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the nationally syndicated public radio show. "American Routes," which is produced and broadcast weekly from the Tulane University uptown campus, is devoted to American vernacular music and culture. The concert included performances by Jon Cleary, the Treme Brass Band, Irma Thomas and Walter "Wolfman" Washington, among others, and was recorded for national broadcast on the week of July 4. Spitzer is also a professor of anthropology and American studies at Tulane.
