Speaking of cool news from students and alumni:
Tim Rinaldi, a student leader for Mission Honduras, wants to invite everyone to a benefit concert featuring Benjy Davis at the Howlin' Wolf. The concert is Thursday (April 7) and tickets are $15. Proceeds will help the group's effort to add on to the health clinic it built during its last mission in May 2010.

JP Gooderham is another busy student. He is putting everything on the line for a chance to be hired for an eight-week summer internship in Los Angeles. Perhaps the most interesting thing is that the internship is being offered by Charlie Sheen! Gooderham, a Tulane sophomore studying political science, has already beat out more than 80,000 applicants through two rounds to become one of about 200 remaining candidates for the social media consultant position. You can help him make it through the third round by viewing his YouTube video. The more views, “likes” and comments he gets, the greater his chances of advancing.

Dave Walker, a Times-Picayune columnist and fellow blogger, has the scoop on Tulane alumnus Ben Castoriano and his date with ABC's “The Bachelorette.” In a post last week, Walker noted several websites that confirm the 2007 Tulane law graduate as one of the contestants on the reality television show. Watch the season premiere on May 23.

If you find that you don't have anything exciting going on right now, visit the events calendar to boost your activity. Notable events this week are National Public Health Week and the Tulane Athletics 5K Run/Walk on Saturday (April 9).
