Interior Secretary Visits

Top energy officials in the Obama administration visited the Tulane uptown campus on Wednesday (April 13) as part of a recruiting tour. Ken Salazar, secretary of the interior, and Michael R. Bromwich, director of the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, talked with students and toured a laboratory as part of their campaign to recruit students from the nation's top colleges and universities to join the U.S. offshore oil and gas regulatory program.

On a tour of the fish ecology lab in the Science and Engineering Complex, Salazar talks with Jessica Ward, a Tulane postdoctoral fellow in ecology and evolutionary biology.

Bromwich meets with students in Weinmann Hall to discuss careers in public service with the interior department that are available.

Hands go up as students are ready with questions for Salazar, who talked about current and new environmental science positions with the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management.
