Students in the studio art course “Life Drawing” sketch a live model during class. Assistant professor of painting and drawing Aaron Collier says he believes this helps them focus on “thinking in the reserve,” adding light contours on dark paper instead of “pushing the weight” on the darker areas with light paper.
