Makin' Music at the Fest
The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is in session, and that means musicians from Tulane are performing on the fest stages at the Fairgrounds Race Course. Student musicians from the jazz studies program were first up on the opening day on Friday (April 29), filling the Gentilly Stage with the jazz orchestra just after the gates opened. And alumnus Alex McMurray jammed with his Happy Talk Band, just a few of many examples of Jazz Fest performers with Tulane ties. The fest continues on Thursday through Sunday (May 5â“8).
