Michael McKeever Joins Board of Tulane
Michael McKeever, who enjoyed a successful career at Lehman Brothers before retiring in 2000 to become the managing partner of Legacy Venture Partners, LLC, has joined the Board of Tulane, the main governing body of Tulane University.
Former Tulane swimmer Michael McKeever, who holds two degrees from the university, is a new member of the Board of Tulane.
McKeever, who earned a bachelor's degree in economics and an MBA from Tulane, started as an associate in the Investment Banking Division of Lehman Brothers in 1979 and later became co-head of the Investment Banking Division, co-head of the Equity Division and head of the Private Equity Division. He also chaired the firm's investment committee. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, McKeever worked at the First National Bank of Chicago.
A former swimmer at Tulane, McKeever is a past member of the T-Club, an organization of former Tulane student athletes who support the Green Wave's athletic programs. He also is a member of the Tulane President's Council.
“Mike is a wonderful addition to our board, given his love for Tulane, his wisdom and experience,” Tulane President Scott Cowen said. “We look forward to this next chapter in his long association with Tulane.”
McKeever said he is honored and excited to serve on the Tulane board.
“The university changed my life when it offered me a full scholarship to attend and provided me with a world-class education,” McKeever said. “I am looking forward to help guide it for the benefit of current and future generations of young people.”
Legacy Venture Partners is a family investment firm, with interests in publicly traded debt and equity securities, private partnerships and real estate.
McKeever also is on the board of directors and head of the investment committee for Family Centers, a charity in Connecticut's Fairfield County. He lives in Greenwich, Conn., with his wife, Valerie McKeever, and their three children.
