Mobile app for on-the-go Tulane

Tulane at your fingertips? Absolutely — with the new mobile app from Tulane Technology Services.

The free download for the iPhone is available now at the Apple Store (with versions coming soon for Android and Blackberry). The app has several new features that may appeal to Tulanians on the go.

In addition to offering access to news, sports and videos, the app now includes a directory to find contact information for students, faculty and staff. Current students can check their grades and look up their class schedules in a convenient and secure environment.

“With our student population embracing smart phone technology, Tulane Technology Services is most excited about delivering student services to this popular communication medium,” says Frank Resignola of Technology Services.

Technology Services is already considering future functionality, such as tracking the Tulane Shuttle Bus and “push notification” when a seat opens for a wait-listed class. Feedback about the app is welcomed by writing gibson@tulane.edu with recommendations.

Readers who have used a previous version of the Tulane app (with the green icon) must go to the iTunes store to download the newest app.
