As the Tulane University community embraces the start of a new academic year, the uptown campus is abuzz with returning students and New Orleans newcomers who are eager to explore. Whether you’re navigating your new home or returning to your old stomping grounds, these four mobile apps can grant some guidance.

Tulane University Fall Welcome

This app is like a welcome wagon that fits in the palm of your hand. Start your semester with ease by browsing from more than 100 exciting programs and events and then syncing them to your personal calendar. The app also features a convenient campus map and sends live updates for your scheduled events.

Go NOLA

In addition to tips on where to eat, where to shop and what to do on weekends, this app features uniquely curated New Orleans walking tours narrated by celebrities like John Goodman and Tulane University alumnus Bryan Batt.

RTA GoMobile

RTA GoMobile gives users an overview of New Orleans’ public transportation options, allowing the passenger to check in to find when the next bus is heading their way or instantly pay for streetcar fare.

PJ’s Coffee

Whether grabbing a cup to-go on the way to class or preparing for a long night of hitting the books, Tulane students can anticipate frequent trips to the on-campus PJ’s Coffee throughout the semester. This free app allows the user to receive exclusive offers, including a complimentary welcome drink, and rewards points redeemable for their favorite PJ’s beverages.
