A group portrait of unidentified men, taken in New Orleans sometime between 1890-1925, on what seems to be a riverboat deck, inspires curiosity and wonder. They appear to be members of a riverboat crew as labels on their hats identify some as captain, pilot, steward, engineer and carpenter. The original photograph, printed from a glass plate negative, is part of the Joseph M. Jones Steamboat collection in the Louisiana Research Collection at the Howard-Tilton Memorial Library.
