'None but sunny hours'
Occupying a tiny footprint on the lawn in front of Tilton Hall, a small sundial may escape the notice of many who make their way to and from the Tulane University uptown campus. On its face reads the familiar maxim of all sundials: "I count none but sunny hours." Inscribed on the pedestal is a memorial to Leon H. Scherck, dated Nov. 16, 1921. Scherck, who received an undergraduate degree in engineering in 1894, was a charter member of the executive committee of the Tulane Alumni Association, which was established in 1898.
