One student sculpts with wood, glass and recycled steel, while the other uses outdoor settings for her paintings. The works by master of fine arts candidates Grace Mikell and Gregory Price are on display through today (March 2) at the Carroll Gallery in the Woldenberg Art Center on the uptown campus.

A reception for the two students will be held from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. today in the gallery, which is featuring a series of MFA thesis exhibits.

Distinctive works by the two students are on display in the gallery.

Keep, 2011, an oil on canvas, is by Mikell.

This oil on wood panel by Mikell is entitled What Will Happen After Them, 2012.

Price uses recycled wood to construct Recuerdo de Nica, 2011.

Cast glass, with steel and pine, bring a distinctive look to the foreground sculpture, called On Our Way, 2011, while the work in the background, of eucalyptus and steel, is entitled Offshore, 2011.

Mikell calls this oil on wood panel What Is Lacking Cannot Be Counted, 2012.

Nu Gucci, 2011, is the name of this piece by Price, using oak and steel.
