Photos: Honoring an alumna
It was a perfect early evening on the uptown campus when university leaders, along with family and classmates of alumna Carol Downes Cudd, gathered on Nov. 21 to dedicate the patio at the Newcomb College Institute in her honor.
The patio at 43 Newcomb Place was refurbished recently thanks to a gift from Mrs. Cudd, transforming it into a beautiful outdoor space for institute events, such as the annual open house at homecoming.
Newcomb classmates enjoying the celebration are, from left, Mary Myrick Langlois, Linda Hornbeak Kennedy, Carol Downes Cudd, Andree Keil Moss and Sybil Muths Favrot.

At the event, Sally J. Kenney, from left, executive director of the Newcomb College Institute, welcomes Robert C. Cudd III, Carol Downes Cudd, Marjorie Cowen and Tulane President Scott Cowen. The Cudds are generous supporters of the university in numerous areas including the institute, the Newcomb Art Gallery and athletics.
