The Tulane Center for Public Service honored 24 graduating students at the 2012 leaders in service student awards luncheon on Thursday (May 17) at the Tulane president's home during commencement week events.

Tulane President Scott Cowen congratulates Sam Stephens, a Community Service Scholar and Public Service Fellow who was a tutor with Roots of Music, a student leader with Outreach Tulane and involved in numerous other volunteer activities.



Lucette Runsdorf, center, greets the student award-winners. The Runsdorf family supported the awards presentation and also established the Jim Runsdorf Excellence in Public Service Student Award, in memory of Lucette and Lee Runsdorf's son, who was a Tulane alumnus.



Nina Runsdorf, right, widow of Jim Runsdorf, meets award recipient Nicole Schubert, center, at the luncheon. Schubert was involved with the Public Service Fellows program and the Chabad Student Center.
