Photos: Summer Means Sno-balls!

Most New Orleanians have a favorite spot for sno-balls, the sweet shaved-ice treat. Hansen's Sno-Bliz may be the granddaddy of them all. Founded in 1939 by Ernest and Mary Hansen at 4801 Tchoupitoulas St. in New Orleans, it is now owned and operated by their granddaughter, Ashley. Lines of patrons stream out the double screen doors in the afternoons.

They're eager to purchase tastes of Mary's flavored syrups, made from her secret recipes and poured atop ice from the original ice-shaving machine that Ernest invented. What's your favorite flavor?
