Pint-sized parade
The spirit of Mardi Gras was in the air as the Krewe of Newcomb rolled beneath stately oaks through the uptown campus on Friday afternoon. The Krewe, which has paraded most years since 1987, featured colorful costumes depicting a variety of characters such as animals, pirates and New Orleans Saints fans. After the parade, the krewe feasted on king cake and milk during a “ball” held at the Newcomb Children’s Center.
