Storytelling

Ashé 1

Stephanie McKee leads a group of Tulane students in warm-up exercises before they are divided into smaller groups for a round of storytelling. Students then shared community-service experiences that they have had. The event was held at the Ashé Cultural Arts Center on Saturday (Sept. 15) and was among a number of programs held by Outreach Tulane, the university's oldest community service program.

Stephanie McKee, artistic director of Junebug Productions, instructs students about the morning's activities, which included sharing experiences in story circles as well as lessons in cultural dances and drumming. During the session, students learned the importance of listening and being present in the experiences of other people.
