Tulane alumna leads revitalized Le Petit Theatre
Le Petit Théâtre du Vieux Carré has announced the dates for its highly anticipated season, with Tulane alumna Cassie Steck Worley serving as executive director. Le Petit will produce a total of six plays beginning on July 19 with the “lagniappe” production of Love, Loss and What I Wore, written by the late Nora Ephron and her sister, Delia.

“The theater's extremely dedicated all-volunteer board of governors, including Bryan Batt, my good friend and fellow theater major from Tulane, turned out to be tremendous assets as we all worked together to save the theater,” Worley says. “I look forward to working with Tulane's theatre department on future initiatives as we embark on Le Petit's renewed mission of bringing theatre education to all of New Orleans, especially our city's youths.”
The regular season debuts on Sept. 6 with Lombardi, followed by Hair in November, Golda's Balcony in late January, Death of a Salesman in May and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in July.
“We could not be happier with our choice of shows for the new season, true to our goal of providing longtime supporters, as well as audience members who have never been to Le Petit, a series of productions everyone will enjoy,” Worley says. “We've got it all a Pulitzer Prize winner, a recent Broadway hit, the New Orleans premiere of an acclaimed one-woman show, and two of the most exciting musicals ever written.”
