Tulane physician ranks as one of world's top doctors

During the American Diabetes Association"s 74th Scientific Sessions, the world"s largest diabetes-specific meeting to share cutting-edge research, treatment recommendations and advances toward a cure for diabetes, Expertscape recognized the top institutions and medical experts in the research and treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus.

The searchable database of diabetes experts and facilities on the Expertscape website lists Tulane University physician Dr. Vivan Fonseca as the No. 2 expert in Type 2 diabetes.

Fonseca, who holds the Tullis-Tulane Alumni Chair in Diabetes at Tulane, is chief of the Section of Endocrinology in the Department of Medicine.

During the scientific sessions in San Francisco June 13–17, press announcements are expected about two studies in which Fonseca and the Tulane Diabetes Research Program have participated.
