Who goes there?

A chimera looks down from its perch high above a side entrance to Norman Mayer Hall on the Tulane University uptown campus. Similar to gargoyles, which were designed to divert rain water from cascading down the side of a building, chimeras are ornamental creatures crafted to scare off evil spirits and offer protection to those entering or exiting the building.
