Women leaders to speak on ‘Leading Through Times of Change’

For decades, Tulane University and Newcomb alumnae have climbed the professional ladder and taken on the task of leadership. World-renowned artists, skilled financial analysts, respected public servants, celebrated authors and even WNBA champions all spent time on campus preparing for success.

On Saturday, March 12, alumnae will return to campus to help sharpen the next generation of female leaders at this year’s Women Making Waves leadership conference hosted by the Tulane Alumni Association

In its second year, the conference offers an opportunity to network with inspiring alumnae and enjoy sessions facilitated by leading women within the Tulane community — including a keynote by Dr. Kathy Fields, dermatologist and co-developer of Rodan + Fields and Proactiv Solution.

“It’s powerful to see such a diverse group of women building meaningful connections and learning from one another,” says Nicole Bush, director of alumni career services and organizer of the women’s leadership conference. “By taking part in Women Making Waves, our alumnae can not only create opportunities for each other but also create a support system to help each other along the way.”

With a focus on “Leading Through Times of Change,” the one-day conference includes a full slate of education sessions with themes including entrepreneurship, motherhood, personal branding and retirement planning. Women Making Waves will also offer a chance to help disadvantaged women in the New Orleans area gain employment and economic independence through a partnership with Dress for Success New Orleans. Attendees are encouraged to bring a gently used career-wear purse filled with interview-appropriate jewelry or a check donation. Register for the conference online.
