Thankful tradition

The Tulane community gathered Tuesday night (Nov. 21) for the annual Thanksgiving Harvest Fest, held in the Kendall Cram Room of the Lavin-Bernick Center. A traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner was the main attraction, but the evening also featured a tribute to Native Americans with music and storytelling. The event was put on by the Office of International Students and Scholars and the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
While waiting in line for dinner, attendees watched a Powerpoint presentation on the history of Thanksgiving.

Tulane President Mike Fitts mingles with diners. More than 500 members of the Tulane community attended the event.
Belinda Schneider, a staff member in the Office of International Students and Scholars, serves up a generous scoop of baked macaroni and cheese.
Grayhawk Perkins, a Choctaw and Houma tribal historian, storyteller and musician, performed traditional Native American chants during the event.
A variety of pies and cakes offered a sweet ending to the feast.
