EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, Civil Rights Icon Ruby Bridges, Musician Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews and Math Pioneer Peter Lax to Salute Tulane University Graduates
WHAT: Tulane University"s 2012 Commencement
WHO: Approximately 2,700 Tulane graduates, their families and friends. Special guests include keynote speaker Lisa Jackson, civil rights icon Ruby Bridges and mathematics pioneer Peter Lax, who will receive honorary degrees. Musician Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews will receive the Tulane President"s Medal. Other highlights include a full academic procession led by gonfalon-bearing graduates; herald trumpets; performances by Dr. Michael White"s Original Liberty Jazz Band and Wanda Rouzan; confetti cannon blasts; a traditional New Orleans second-line parade and more.
