Book Fest and Tulane Libraries have partnered to present three events during this year’s festival. Book lovers are invited to engage with living stories and perspectives at a Living Library event, which will feature a curated collection of human “books,” who will share their compelling stories of resilience, passion and triumph. The event will take place Friday, March 15, from 2 to 5 p.m. in Pocket Park, located near the Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life. Also Friday at 2 p.m., author Terry McMillan will participate in a session titled “From Bookshelf to Box Office: The Enduring Influence of Terry McMillan” moderated by author and digital humanities scholar Jacinta Saffold. Also on Friday, attendees can engage with the libraries’ newest exhibition “Pages Unveiled: Journey Into the Book Beyond Text,” which features more than 50 book objects ranging from c. 1300 to 2024 and aims to celebrate the overlooked physical elements of books.
