Classrooms take on a new look for fall semester

The university is transforming classrooms to adhere to CDC guidelines to minimize the spread of COVID-19. In addition to being thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, classrooms will receive rolling glass screens for speakers, enhanced technology, distanced desks and furniture as well as several other improvements.

Dr. Victor J. Thannickal named to lead Deming Department of Medicine

Victor J. Thannickal, MD, has been named The Harry B. Greenberg Chair of the John W. Deming Department of Medicine and will join the university in January 2021. Thannickal’s research focuses on cellular and molecular mechanisms of lung repair and regeneration.

Tulane providing unique ways to connect with prospective students during COVID-19

The Office of Undergraduate Admission is offering several virtual opportunities for prospective students during the COVID-19 pandemic including information sessions, workshops, interviews and a newly developed augmented reality brochure. Socially distant on-campus tours are also being conducted.

New management program focuses on driving success via exceptional consumer experiences

The Master of Management in Entrepreneurial Hospitality, the A.B. Freeman School of Business’ first online graduate degree program, teaches students how to craft customer experiences through the joint lenses of hospitality and entrepreneurship. The program will launch in January 2021.

A legacy of growth

James Stofan, vice president for alumni relations, will retire at the end of August after being at the university since September 2012. Stofan cited a number of initiatives and programs as high points during his tenure, including engaging thousands of alumni and developing new alumni traditions.
