Tulane’s Professional Athlete Care Team and the NFL Player Care Foundation will conduct free screenings Oct. 19 from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Tulane Medical Center as a part of the NFL’s Healthy Body and Mind Screening program, which is open to all former NFL players. The Tulane Altman Program in International Studies and Business and the Tulane Office of the Provost are sponsoring a talk by Ivan Korcok, ambassador of Slovakia to the United States, on Oct. 31 from 4 - 5:30 p.m. Korcok will speak on the 1989 events that resulted in the fall of the totalitarian regime and the re-introduction of democracy in the former country of Czechoslovakia.
