Tulane Law symposium examines fairness and bias concerns in artificial intelligence

Kristin Johnson, Tulane Law professor and the 2019 Gordon Gamm Faculty Scholar, will lead the Gordon Gamm Comparative Law and Justice Symposium on Nov. 8. The symposium will also feature other distinguished experts and panelists as they discuss the societal implications of artificial intelligence.

A Studio in the Woods to celebrate 50 years with 9th annual FORESTival

The 9th annual FORESTival: A Celebration of Art and Nature will take place Nov. 16 and will celebrate the 50th anniversary of A Studio in the Woods. The event will be held at the studio from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Breaking the Ivy Ceiling: How Women Advance Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity Within the Academy

The Center for Academic Equity is holding the fall 2019 Equity Speaker Series on Nov. 1 from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. in Stone Auditorium. The event will explore how women’s labor plays a central role in making academia more inclusive. Michael Cunningham, PhD, professor and associate provost for graduate studies and research in Tulane’s Office of Academic Affairs, will moderate a conversation with Rebecca Mark, PhD, director of the Center for Academic Equity, chair of Tulane’s English department and associate dean in Newcomb-Tulane College, and Carolyn Barber-Pierre, assistant vice president for student affairs at Tulane, and head of the Carolyn Barber-Pierre Center for Intercultural Life.
