Donated two-century-old manuscript honored at Tulane Law

A 200-year-old manuscript, an original work on the Civil Law of Louisiana, was celebrated at Tulane Law last week. Tulane civil law experts discussed Louis de la Vergne, the man who made the manuscript his life's work, as well as the manuscript’s history, and its influence on student and scholarly learning.

Tulane chapel dedication Mass celebrated by Archbishop

A dedication Mass for The Chapel of St. Martin de Porres, donated by Gayle and Tom Benson, was celebrated by New Orleans Archbishop Gregory Aymond.

Girls in STEM at Tulane

Tulane’s School of Science and Engineering will host Girls in STEM at Tulane on Nov. 16 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Lindy Claiborne Boggs Center. The program provides girls in fifth through seventh grades the opportunity to meet with women in STEM fields. The day will also feature workshops and activities developed by Tulane faculty and student teams aimed at inspiring and supporting girls to pursue STEM careers. For more information, click here.

A Reading by Rachel Kushner

The Newcomb Institute at Tulane is hosting a reading by author Rachel Kushner today at 6 p.m. in Freeman Auditorium at the Woldenberg Art Center. Her latest novel is The Mars Room, which debuted on the New York Times bestseller list. Her other works include The Flamethrowers, The Strange Case of Rachel K and Telex from Cuba.
