The Tulane Jewish studies department will host a lecture by Shari Rabin, assistant professor of Jewish studies and director of the Pearlstine/Lipov Center for Southern Jewish Culture at the College of Charleston, titled “How Frontier Jews Made American Judaism,” on March 18 in the Jewish Studies Building Conference Room 103 on the Tulane University campus. The event is free and open to the public.

William Marko, managing director at an investment banking group based in Houston, and Ann Tenenbaum, a philanthropist in New York City focusing on the arts and education, have been elected to the Board of Tulane, the main governing body of Tulane University.

Off with their hair! Tulane University School of Medicine students braved a shave to benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. The event raised more than $8,000 for the organization, which supports children with cancer.

Applications to Tulane have increased more than 65 percent over the past five years, with 41,365 applications arriving this year. The university's selectivity rate, the number of students who apply versus the number of students who are accepted, also improved to just over 13 percent.

New Year’s resolutions can be hard to follow - especially in New Orleans, where the start of Carnival brings king cake just days after the holiday season ends. The Tulane Living Well Clinic is launching a new program to help Tulane University faculty and staff meet their health goals in 2019. The program is complimentary and offered as a benefit by the Human Resources Department.
