Students from Dillard University, Loyola University, University of New Orleans and Tulane University will participate in the annual day of service to honor Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 21, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The students will dedicate their efforts to honor of King’s legacy by working with nonprofit groups around New Orleans.

A $500,000 gift from the Gayle and Tom Benson Charitable Foundation will fund completion of the chapel in the Fr. Val McInnes, OP, Center for Catholic Life. The chapel, located on Tulane University’s uptown campus, will be named The Chapel of St. Martin de Porres, donated by Gayle and Tom Benson.
