Behind the curtain
Scenic artist Phoebe Derbes works on a set design for A Little Night Music, the next show of Tulane Summer Lyric Theatre that will run July 11-14. Derbes, who is in her third year working with Summer Lyric, is among a cadre of professionals whose behind-the-scene efforts add to each production's polish and flair.
Operating the table saw, Robert Self works as a carpenter in the scene shop. A technical director in nearby Loyola University's Department of Theater Arts and Dance, Self is in his second year working with Summer Lyric Theatre.
Rick Paul, a nationally renowned set designer who is based Chicago, is in his 34th year working with Summer Lyric Theatre.
Daniel Rigamer is a stitcher/dresser for A Little Night Music. In his second year with the company, Rigamer will perform later this summer in Summer Lyric Theatre's production of Kiss Me Kate.
