Have you ever wondered why the Lavin-Bernick Center Quad is so green? It is gulf annual rye, a cool-season grass admired for its bright, green hue. Annually around mid-November, the Tulane campus grounds crew covers the quad with fresh rye seed, and adds new seed as necessary throughout the year.
