Horse of a different color

A patch of horsetail reeds, also known as scouring rush, adorns the plaza in front of Yulman stadium. Considered a living fossil, horsetail is one of the oldest plants on the planet. The cone on top, called a strobilus, produces the plant's reproductive spores.
