Statue salutes New Orleans’ jazz icon.

Near the Tulane University downtown campus stands a tribute to trumpeter and singer Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong. Credited for bringing the art of jazz to the mainstream, Armstrong is known for such hits as “ What a Wonderful World” and “When The Saints Go Marching In.”
