Ellis Marsalis, legendary bandleader, educator, NEA Jazz Master, and patriarch of one of New Orleans' most renowned musical families, performs in Dixon Hall.

Marsalis is regarded as the premier modern jazz pianist in the city.
Marsalis greets the audience as he takes the stage at the start of his performance in Dixon Hall.
The free concert, presented annually by the Lagniappe Series of the Newcomb-Tulane College Dean's Office, always fills the house at Dixon Hall.
Jazz drummer Jason Marsalis, left, is amused by his father, Ellis Marsalis’ response to a question during a Q&A following the concert. The younger Marsalis sat in on the drums for one song.
